Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is the process of resolving legal conflicts without going to trial. We have substantial training in arbitration and mediation. We counsel clients in determining when ADR is in their best interests and meets their needs better than traditional litigation, and on the legal consequences flowing from the use of each ADR option.
We provide a wide variety of services to our business clients from assisting in selecting the type of organizational entity under which to operate, preparation of agreements, sale and purchase of businesses, obtaining financing and funding for business operations, and employee relations, to dissolution.
The form of business chosen for a business entity potentially affects every aspect of its operations. Our firm assists our clients in formation and business planning in deciding whether they want to operate as a closely held business, limited liability company, partnership, or corporation. We advise our clients about directors` and officers` liability, dissolution, franchising, reorganization, trade association membership and activity, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, business successions, and shareholders` rights. Our attorneys have more than 100 years of combined experience in handling both transactional and litigation matters.
Our firm represents owners, contractors, construction managers, developers, design professionals, and suppliers in all aspects of the construction process, including bidding and document preparation, contract negotiation and formation, contract performance, financing and warranty issues, mechanics and materialmen liens, and claims and dispute resolution.
We will aggressively challenge businesses and merchants that misrepresent or fail to deliver promised services to, or otherwise defraud, their customers.
We can draft contracts in virtually all areas of civil law, and are highly capable at negotiating and drafting contracts; litigating contract performance disputes; and evaluating the appropriate remedies for breached contracts.
We have experience defending the rights of people arrested and accused of criminal offenses. We handle misdemeanors and felony indictments.
We will pursue a variety of remedies to facilitate all types of creditors in obtaining collection of their just debts. This includes representation of individual and commercial creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, at both the state and federal level, in facilitating their rights to recover their just share of the debtor's remaining assets. We will also represent individuals and commercial clients in bankruptcy proceedings, at both the state and federal level, that are initiated by either an insolvent individual or business, or creditors seeking to have the debtor's remaining assets distributed among the creditors. Bankruptcy proceedings can involve either restructuring and reorganizing insolvent persons' debt structure, or discharging them outright from any further obligations on their debts.
We are knowledgeable about Guardianship and other issues affecting post retirement needs.
Employment law covers a complex network of laws and regulations that control how employers must treat employees, former employees, and applicants for employment. We work in areas such as employment discrimination, violations of civil rights, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee benefits, wrongful discharge allegations and employment contracts.
Our firm offers a variety of services for people who wish to plan in advance for the distribution of property upon their death, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
Our firm handles a full range of Family Law matters, including adoption, premarital agreements, contested and uncontested divorce, legal separation, establishment and modification of child support, establishment and modification of child custody and visitation, cohabitation and domestic partnership documents, and paternity.
State, county, and municipal restrictions and regulations on real property use and property development are increasing in both number and complexity. Our firm offers representation in this unique area of law.
A variety of disputes frequently arise between the fee owner of a commercial or residential property and persons who rent from the owner the temporary right to possess and occupy the property. Our firm will negotiate resolutions to these disputes, and litigate them if necessary.
We offer representation in cases involving injuries resulting from improper care and treatment of patients by health care providers, including doctors, dentists, nurses, and paraprofessionals.
We will represent people who have been injured by someone else, such as wrongful deaths, all types of motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, defective products, and all other negligent and intentional misconduct. We assist our clients in receiving the maximum possible compensation for their injuries, lost wages, and other damages.
We handle probate and estate administration. Probate is the legal process by which a will is proved to be valid and decedents' debts are paid and assets distributed after they die. Estate administration includes the probate process as well as non-probate transfers of the deceased's assets, and generally includes collecting all of the decedent's assets, liquidating his or her liabilities, paying necessary taxes (if any), and distributing property to heirs. State laws direct the probate court how to distribute the deceased's estate, so it is important to consult a firm for representation in this area of the law.
We offer represenation to individuals who have been injured as the result of a product that was designed, manufactured, sold, and/or furnished in an unsafe manner, including: asbestos; clothing; alcoholic beverages; firearms; food and agricultural products; machinery and tools; medical products and devices; motor vehicles; recreational products; and tobacco.
We will represent both commercial clients and individuals in all proceedings and transactions that deal with real property-land and the structures attached to it-including purchase and sale agreements, construction, mortgages, foreclosures, leases, zoning, title examinations, quiet title actions, closings, and property management.
